Far from a dental office gray plastic , it shows a fairly large design effort and should be equally at home in a smart study or even a guest room , as it would in a trendy office .The lid is one solid piece light -colored acrylic , sandwiched between white panel roughly the size of an A4 flatbed cover on top and gray underneath . Gray cover also holds a built -in transparency adapter , connected to the main chassis via the gray cable is a little tacky .
Software installation is very easy and application support is provided for Windows and OS X , with IRIS OCR software built into both versions . HP Twain Scanning is an application , which aims to provide simple help for color correction and other picture anomalies .
The three button control panel is set to white in the cap and this gives a single connection - ush to scan , copy and PDF functions , combined with the HP Scanning software . At the back are sockets for a black block power supply , USB connection cable and adapter transparency . This adapter can take two 35mm slides or two negative ; good to slide but you will probably need to cut up your negative strips to get them scanned .
